The name of the three-time WSBK champion Troy Bayliss comes once more to the front page as we might just see him once more in the saddle of the Aruba Ducati 1199 Panigale superbike, substituting for injured rider Davide Giugliano. Bayliss, 45, took part in the kick-off 2015 WSBK round on his home circuit at Phillip Island, 20-22 February, and he qualified 13th on the grid, a very good performance considering his age and the fact he is… well, retired.
Really would love to see Troy on the bike again, wouldn't you?

Crash.net catches up with Ducati WSBK rider Chaz Davies to discuss his season so far, the future and his opinions on the Circuit of Wales.
Q&A Chaz Davies
Crash.net
This is your first season on the Ducati, how do you view it so far?
Chaz Davies
It's gone about as expected. It's been up and down with podiums here and there. The podium at Imola came a bit out of the blue, I didn't expect to be quite that competitive there, and then in six races I had three DNFs in Portugal, Misano and at Laguna Seca I barely started. We had some DNFs there but I felt that the pace was there with a front row at Portimao and Laguna and then getting on the podium last weekend at Jerez. It's been about what was expected and a little bit up and down but it's a development year and we've gone from strength to strength in a few areas of the bike but as we've improved in some areas we've had to change the way that the bike works in others. We've made it a lot lighter, its lost 5kg compared to last year, and the engine is a lot more powerful so we're playing around and getting closer to the limit of the bike.

Chaz Davies believes he can enjoy a strong WSBK race weekend at Jerez with the Ducati, even if he hasn't had the best of luck there previously.
Though he admits it isn't a circuit that has been kind to him in the past, Chaz Davies believes the flowing nature of the Jerez circuit will play to the strengths of his Ducati 1199 Panigale.
Returning to action after a lengthy summer break, Davies is hoping to get the final portion of his 2014 WSBK season off to a good start after a promising race weekend in Laguna Seca was scuppered by a race one crash that ruled him out of the second encounter too.
