Ducati has announced five recalls for the 1199 Panigale within the past week. The recalls effect steering, engine cooling, rear suspension and brake components.
Two recalls stem from the steering components of the bike. One was made because the screws that secure the steering damper to the steering head could fall out because not enough Loctite was applied to the threads. For this, dealers will be removing both screws, cleaning the threads, applying the proper amount of Loctite and tightening the screws to the proper torque settings. Also in the steering assembly, the Uniball bearing on the damper rod eyelet could slip out of its seat on the Ohlins steering damper. The solution for this is for dealers to install a special washer at the steering damper’s mounting point.
