Coming off the high of 2013, the year in which he scored four podiums, finished fifth in the championship, and looked certain to score his first win in MotoGP, his season in Ducati has been a massive challenge. Technical malfunctions, crashes, and a battle to find a way around the chronic understeer which plagues the Desmosedici. Crutchlow lingers in the middle of the pack, not fighting at the sharp end. This was not the season which Crutchlow had envisaged when he signed for Ducati.

When we were at WDW we wrote: there will be three “red” Ducati on track in 2015 but after all the official Ducati might be only two: those of Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone.
Cal Crutchlow, in fact, right now is trying to break free from the contract that would tie him to Borgo Panigale in 2015.

Cal Crutchlow broke out during the after race media scrum, also because of a difficult and even dangerous race. “I do not understand what there is to celebrate when you arrives almost thirty seconds off the front – he blurted out, referring to the fifth place of Dovizioso – even if it went better than last year there is very little to be happy with”.

Ducati rider Cal Crutchlow is doing everything in his power to heal his injured pinkie finger and return to the MotoGP track as soon as possible. The finger he injured required surgery and now he is has been in the chamber to fast track the healing process. The image below provided by the BT Sport MotoGP

According to GPOne.com, Cal Crutchlow still has damage in the knuckle of his ring finger which causes pain under strong braking and it’s doubtful that he will race in Jerez .

"My hand is getting better every day, but I still have some pain and it's definitely going to be difficult to ride this weekend. I'll try and see how it is from Friday and do the best job I can. Jerez is surely one of the toughest circuits to come back and ride at after my crash. It's a really great track, and the crowd are great as well, but really I'm just excited about joining up with the team again and getting back on the bike."

The Brits hand injury could hold him back from next weekends MotoGP round in Argentina.
Ducati’s Cal Crutchlow is questionable for the upcoming Argentine MotoGP next weekend due to a hand injury suffered in a crash during the Grand Prix of the Americas.
Crutchlow had issues with his rear tire last weekend at the Circuit of The Americas and had to pit in around nine laps into the race to change out the tire. For Crutchlow, it went from bad to worse when he crashed on the new tire and his leg got caught in the wheel, making for a very ugly, hard crash.

Ducati's Cal Crutchlow was coy when quizzed on speculation the manufacturer was set to enter the MotoGP 'Open' class but admitted he could see 'positives' in making the change.
Crutchlow was speaking on the first day of the official Sepang MotoGP test, where he tested both the GP13 and GP14 versions of the Desmosedici.
The British star jokingly dodged a question from reporters over the potential for a switch to the 'Open' rules this season, saying: “I know nothing about it. Is there an Open class?”

Ahead of his racing debut with Ducati this season, Englishman Cal Crutchlow has spent the winter working hard in California - preparing himself for preseason testing and round one of 2014 at Qatar. ...
Not to put too fine a point on this but Spanish press reported Lorenzo having reached a "prelimaniry agreement", not just talking. That's the difference between killing your relationship with Yamaha vs just reminding them why they may wish to start talking earlier about a new contract...

How did Ducati go from the first non-Japanese manufacturer to win a riders' title in over 30 years to no race wins in three seasons?
In 2007, at the dawn of the new 800cc era and five years after their return to Grand Prix racing, Ducati won the World Championship with Casey Stoner.
Since then, no-one but Stoner has brought the Desmosedici to victory and the team look far from adding to their one and only world title.
They have been accused of killing the career of Marco Melandri, and of nearly doing likewise to the untouchable Valentino Rossi.
